      SCRIBE FROM CUILAPAN

This is one of the Zapotec´s best known figure in the Mesoamerican art, it was given the identity of a “scribe” because of its sedentary position with hands on knees. This reminds us of the Egyptian scribes. The scribe holds two calendar dates, one in the headdress and one on its chest. Both form the numeral 13. HANDCRAFTED REPLICA USING ANCESTRAL TECNIQUES.
