INAH for PAKAL32

Founded in 1939, INAH´S (National Institute of Anthropology and History) Reproduction Workshop has achieved in giving continuity to Mexico´s pre-hispanic artistic representations of ceramic pieces. After multiple research done (with the purpose of learning about procedures and techniques applied in the pre-hispanic period) current artisans have been able to reproduce the exact, same pieces as the authentic. This has contributed enormously to the replacement of original, damaged pieces which can no longer be exhibited at museums, the diffusion of elaboration procedures applied in different historic periods to conserve these techniques in contemporary work, and as a way to transmit Mexico´s cultural values to new generations worldwide.
